I teach the importance of social media and communications in my various television production electives. Although productions/projects in my class demand self-motivated individuals, they create interactive opportunities, driven by the student's creativity, inquisitiveness, and passion.
I hold a BS in TV, Radio, and Film from Syracuse University (S.I. Newhouse School of Communications) and keep in touch with many of my professors, discussing the value of incorporating technology in the classroom at both a secondary and university/college level. I have taught secondary English and interned at both a production company (Overbrook Entertainment) and publishing company (Charlesbridge Publishing), gaining valuable experience in creative writing, script coverage, creative production, and marketing & sales experience.
I am active on Twitter (@misslambertkptv & @aklambert19) and other social media platforms (www.aklambertwrites.com), promoting a fantasy book I hope to debut. I hope to spark similar writing/production ambitions in the hearts of the students at KPHS, encouraging them to join groups like the S.S.S. (Stories, Scripts, and Screenplays), an after-school creative writing club I created as a long-term substitute.
